On Friday night, 4th November, the Welsh department took a group of pupils from years 10, 11 and 12 to the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl to see the new Welsh show ‘Salsa’. The theatre company said that it was set to rival Strictly Come Dancing and that everyone should take their dancing shoes. The show was about a married couple who had lost interest in each other so the wife, Rhian wanted to go to dancing lessons to help with their marriage. Her husband, Wayne wasn’t too keen o the idea, he preferred to star gaze than face his problems. Off they went then to the dancing lessons and when the dance teacher walked in, a very attractive dance teacher, Wayne instantly fell in love. Rhian fell as well, but face flat onto the floor!  Rhian wasn’t able to dance anymore so Wayne started lying about his whereabouts – claiming he was going for a walk when he was really going to the dance lessons to dance with the dance teacher – Adela Vegas. Wayne soon found out that he was a good dancer and Adela asked him to dance with her in a dance competition. However, Rhian discovered Wayne’s secret and was not impressed with his lying ways. Fortunately for Wayne, Rhian went to the competition and saw how good a dancer Wayne was and the pair left hand in hand having found each other again. The show was extremely amusing and everyone cried tears of laughter. When the show finished, the pupils got the chance to get up on the stage and show off their dance moves – a truly unforgettable experience!
