Treorchy Comprehensive School

Nine selected pupils from Trerochy’s sixth form have been helping to shape the future of the Historic Environment in Wales. The group attended a meeting with representatives from Cadw and the Welsh Assembly Government at the National waterfront Museum in Swansea to discuss a new piece of legislation being written by the Assembly for the first time. Cadw are keen to involve the young people of Wales in their consultation process and this select few are among the 300 young people who will directly affect what is included and written in the new law. Pupils spoke with maturity about their opinions on the Heritage of Wales and Cadw were particularly impressed with how they gave great consideration to the weighty questions being asked of them. Future politicians in the making!
